Port of Spain

At the base of the West Indian archipelago beats a strong and vibrant heart – Trinidad’s thriving Port of Port of Spain. Port of Spain is the capital of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago and the country's third-largest municipality, after San Fernando and Chaguanas. As a tourism destination, Port of Spain has much to offer. Our rich multiculturalism, inherited from the varied ethnic groups that settled here, also provides colourful backdrops for any visitor. At the base of the West Indian archipelago beats a strong and vibrant heart – Trinidad’s thriving Port of Port of Spain.  In 2004 the Port celebrated its 65th anniversary, and is now in the midst of a corporate programme that will forever alter the face of the Caribbean transshipment. Geographically, the Port of Port of Spain is ideal for maritime traffic, providing a natural harbour on Trinidad’s north-western coasts where adverse weather conditions are extremely rare. These ideal conditions, augmented by a skilled and dedicated workforce, have enabled the Government of Trinidad & Tobago to implement an operational and marketing strategy that will enforce the Port of Port of Spain’s position as an economic hub for years to come.
